The Witches Are Coming

Three more books will be added to the Witches of Wimberley series starting with Witch Wants Forever April 27th and ending with Coven, the first book of the Warlocks Series in September.

New York Times bestselling author, Victoria Danann, adds a long-awaited book to the Knights of Black Swan saga featuring everybody’s favorite demon.  👿

Two and a half centuries ago Sixt had been a young witch with little control. In a fit of jealousy, she’d cursed the demon with an addiction spell. She thought better of it shortly thereafter, but couldn’t find him to take it back. She did something unforgivable, but now she wants forgiveness anyway.

Deliverance had been a slave to sex for so long he could barely remember life before. When he learned the compulsion that was a never ending itch was an addiction hex, he was elated because hexes can be withdrawn by the witch who casts them. But giddiness was cut short when he learned the price he’d have to pay to have the curse reversed.

Knights of Black Swan has been voted BEST PARANORMAL ROMANCE SERIES every year for the past four years in a row. Reviewers’ Choice Awards, The Paranormal Romance Guild.

NEW SSMC COMING. Preorder now.

Want more SSMC? Preorder now. MARCH 29TH

She’s on the run. He’s as steady as they come. Karma is calling. And so is the mob.

New York Times BESTSELLING AUTHOR, Victoria Danann, adds an unlikely, but weirdly charming romance to the SSMC series.”

Gin: How did I end up almost two hundred thousand dollars in debt? It wasn’t as hard as it sounds.

I went to Colombia and studied anthropology. The perfect background to get a great job. Right? Okay. It was a stupid choice. As it turns out, one of several. But I was still a teenager when I picked a major. I’ve since learned that brains aren’t fully developed until years later. A lot of good that information does me now. So I ended up answering phones at a third rate magazine. In New Jersey. When a duffel bag full of big bills showed up in my gym locker, I did what anybody with student loans would do. I paid them off.

It turns out that the money didn’t come from my fairy godmother after all. More like godfather and he’s the furthest thing from a fairy tale. Some goons stashed the bag in the wrong locker. For the mob. It probably won’t surprise you to learn they want it back. So, again, I did what anybody would do. I ran. All the way to the Texas Hill Country. I mean, they wouldn’t follow me there. Right? It’s practically the Outback. Right?

Raze: It was Bike Night at my place, which meant it was crowded. But when she came through the door, she stood out like a neon sign. I didn’t care that she looked lost or that she had unbelievably suckable curves. And it didn’t occur to me to worry when she looked back over her shoulder. I guess I figured she was looking for a boyfriend or a husband who, if he was smart, would always be real close behind.

The fact was, I needed help. Marjorie called in with some lame excuse, which meant she was fired. Employees can’t bail on Bike Night. It’s a cardinal sin. I don’t really know what that is ’cause I’m not Catholic, but it’s bad. I said, “You got any experience slingin’ drinks?” She shook her head. I gave up a disgusted sigh. “You good with people?” She gave me a cute little smirk that’s probably served her well up to now and shrugged. I shook my head, knowing I’d be sorry, and handed her an apron.

She took it, looked at it like she didn’t know what to do with it. After a second of two she raised those big blue eyes to mine and said, “I don’t have a place to stay.” I looked away so she wouldn’t think she had me by the balls and let go with a stream of cuss words in my head.

“Do a good job and you can sleep in the studio in the back. For tonight,” I said. She gave me a hug like she was grabbing onto a lifesaver and filled my nose with her rainy green apple feminine shampoo smell. ‘Course I didn’t show it, but that hug knocked me on my ass. She was just some woman coming off the road. I knew this. But there was something… I pushed her away. “Just for tonight.” My voice was gruff, sounded harsh. Good. She needed to know my Roadhouse was no plushy crash pad.I was firm. I was clear.

Wasn’t I?

What’s this about?

Choices always come with consequences.

If you force a demon to agree to a deal under duress, the day will come when you’ll regret it.

Sixt was a witch nursing a centuries-long grudge of a scorned woman.

Deliverance had been a slave to sex for so long he could barely remember life before. When he learned the compulsion that was a never ending itch was caused by an addiction curse, he was elated because hexes can be reversed. But happiness was short lived when he learned what he’d have to do for the witch who cast the spell.

    Ms. Dannan,

I have a nook and I see that Journey Man is only being offered at Amazon, which supports Kindle. Will you be releasing this book to Barnes and Nobles for those of us using a NOOK?

Also just curious can I get paperbacks of the Black Swan Series?

    • vdanann June 6, 2016 at 7:58 am - Reply

      Hi Janet –

1.) Journey Man will be available on NOOK July 13th.

2.) You can get paperbacks of all my books through Amazon. When you go to the title, you will see there are two editions, one is the ebook, the other is the print version.

      Thank you for asking,
      my best.

So, what actually happens to Stalkson Grey? In Moonlight, he appears to get his HEA, but I cannot find if/when anyone returned to take him to the new lands. Has he been trapped in the wrong dimension all this time, or am I looking for answers in the wrong places? I have read the first 5 in the Black Swan Knights and am starting book 6.

    • vdanann June 21, 2016 at 3:52 pm - Reply

      Hi Marsha –

Here is a follow up interview with Stalkson Grey that was published on October 31, 2013.
ALSO, he figures prominently in the New Scotia Pack series. Happy Reading! 😀

      An Interview with Stalkson Grey

Victoria: First, thank you for agreeing to the interview. I know this is not your favorite sort of thing. Let me take just a moment to make sure your readers are on the same page, so to speak.

Stalkson Grey, is a werewolf who first appeared in The Order of the Black Swan serial saga in Book Two, The Witch’s Dream. His character, as king of the Elk Mountain, Idaho werewolf tribe, was arrogant and more or less insufferable.

      Grey: Now just a minute!

Victoria: He turns up again in Book Four, Moonlight, and gives a rousing performance as my somewhat loosely associated version of Red Riding Hood’s big bad wolf.

Now then. Grey, I understand congratulations are in order. The elders named you king of the new northern werewolf colony in Lunark dimension.

      Grey: (He nodded.)

Victoria: Forgive me for being blunt, but I thought you didn’t want to be king, too much responsibility and all that.

Grey: I didn’t. I don’t. It just turns out that I hate being told what to do more than I hate having the responsibility for everybody’s welfare.

Victoria: I see. So how is it going? I see you’re looking rather casual.

Grey: (Glanced down at his pants. He was shirtless and wearing the same soft doeskin pants that Deliverance favored.) Yes. (Smiled.) We don’t have many functions that require waistcoats.

Victoria: Waistcoats. No. I suppose not. Those pants look a lot like what Deliverance wears. And didn’t I hear that you named the new colony Deliverance?

      Grey: Yes.

      Victoria: Yes? Just yes?

Grey: The demon hooked me up with the pants. The new colony is named Deliverance.

Victoria: Okay. Shall we assume the colony was named for the demon?

      Grey: Assume whatever you like.

Victoria: Come on. Work with me a little here.

Grey: All right. I named it Deliverance partly because the demon brought us here, partly because we were delivered from years of worry and misconception about extinction of our species, partly because of the reality of being delivered from the cancerous, avaricious behavior of the humans, and partly because the migration was my delivery into a new life. Like being born again.

Victoria: (It took me a minute to absorb all that.) Wow.

Grey: (He rolled one shoulder in a graceful, athletic shrug.)

Victoria: So how’s Luna? It can’t be easy to be a new wife and adjust to life on a frontier at the same time.

Grey: (He blinded me with a boyish grin that made him look like he was in his early twenties.) Happy. Pregnant. With twins! (He chuckled.) She tells everybody that Lunark Dimension was named after her. She’s well-liked by the other human mates and her skills as healer, well, we needed them. She’s teaching the others.

Victoria: (I couldn’t help but smile at that.) That’s nice, Grey. I’m glad it’s working out for both of you. When are the babies due?

Grey: Mid-winter. We’ll make it work.

Victoria: Do you want girls or boys?

      Grey: (He grinned again.) Girls.

      HI Lisa –

I would love to produce the books as audiobooks, but am never happy with the way they are read. I’m going to attempt to do it myself, but there’s a push/pull between spending my time doing that as opposed to writing new stories. Stay tuned. Maybe in 2017. And thank you for asking and letting me know there’s interest.

    Hi Victoria,

I have purchased all of your Knights of Black Swan books through B&N (NOOK). I see that Journey Man is only available on Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited. My question is, will Journey Man be available on NOOK any time soon? Even if it is briefly, I would love the opportunity to purchase it and complete my collection.

    Best Regards

    • vdanann October 31, 2016 at 8:48 am - Reply

Hi Patricia – First, thank you very much for reading KBS. So glad you’re enjoying. Be sure to read Carnal before Journey Man.

I can’t afford to sell books on B&N. Amazon makes exclusivity lucrative enough so that I can be a full time writer. I make all the new releases available on B&N for preorder (usually 90 days) and three days after release so that anyone who wants to read on NOOK without using an app can get them. To be kept current on new releases and not miss an opportunity for buying on B&N, I invite you to subscribe to my list. I usually send one email a month and almost all pertain to new releases.

That said, you can still get books for NOOK by way of Amazon using a free app. My assistant, Sarah, will be glad to help you do it. Please email her at blackswanjunkie

Hi, Victoria. I’m hooked on The Black Swan Series! Great reads! I have a NOOK and I have a ton of books downloaded to it, but alot was coming from Amazon that I wanted so I downloaded the free Kindle app to my NOOK tablet. I thought my tablet my explode or something violent by having Kindle app on it and it being a B&N product but it works perfectly. I love having the option to get books from either store. Just wanted to let other readers know that option is out there.
    Happy reading (and writing!),

Each person has their own personality flaws and strengths and they are so well written its like reading a personal diary of each real living person. I am new to your books but you are now one of my favorites. I love the detail and the way you draw me into your world but the very best is the deep in the gut belly laughs that you provide. I’ve never enjoyed reading as much as when the book takes me to each extreme. I’ve cried and I’ve laughed so hard I can’t breathe. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and keep ‘me coming, please

Love your books I have been reading them for a month now. So far have read Knights of the Black Swan, The 3 Exiled, the 3 D.I.T, have Fire Wolf in New Scotia Pack left. I can’t wait for Deliverance to come out. What i love most is how you connect all your series. Do the other series also connect?

    • vdanann January 25, 2018 at 3:29 pm - Reply

Hi Susie – Thank you for going through the catalog. So glad you’re enjoying the stories.

The SSMC books are “reality” and not connected. Prince of Demons is connected. The Witches of Wimberley are only connect to Black Swan by a single paragraph in Deliverance although there will be more tie in to come.

      Hope this helps 😀

Saw an FB post yesterday saying if you liked Christine Feehans Carpathians series then to read the Knights of the Black Swan series – I love Christine Feehan so seemed obvious to try it so I downloaded the kindle app to my iPad and started reading- couldn’t stop til I’d finished – then I realised it was 2:40am!!!! What a fantastic book, I have every intention of reading the rest and don’t know how I’ve missed them.

One question – will they ever become available on iBooks or are they amazon only?

    • vdanann April 2, 2018 at 6:44 am - Reply

Hi Jill – What a great way to start my week! (It’s Monday morning.)

Totally agree about Christine Feehan. I met her in Las Vegas last year and she swore she was going to read my books. Don’t know if she did, but it was a very nice thing to say. She’s not only a marvelous creative mind, but a super warm, down to earth person.

My books were available across distributors for several years, but unless there is some unforeseen change in the industry, I must remain exclusive to Amazon for financial reasons. Want to please everybody, but must also pay the mortgage.

Thanks so much for writing to let me know you’re enjoying the jumping off point to Elora’s journey. And for letting me know my marketing is working!

      Very best,

For example Carnal, Exiled series book 1, should be read before Journey Man, Black Swan series book 9. Should any of the D.I.T, Exiled 2 and 3, or Prince of Demons books be read in between Black Swan books?

Hi. I have not been feeling well for the past week or so, so I stayed in bed and read. I had purchased My Familiar Stranger years ago, and when I read it, I didn’t think there were sequels. I re-read that book, remembered how much I loved it, and decided to stay in bed and read ALL 12 books (and 3 DIT) books. Love, love, loved it all. They were superb!! They actually helped me feel so much better. (I probably could have gotten out of bed a few days earlier, but figured, what the heck; your stories were just too good to stop reading.) You are truly the master storyteller. I’ve read a lot of paranormal, but you definitely are the best I’ve ever read; and believe me when I say, at 64, I’ve read a lot! Thank you for all the wonderful emotions I’ve experienced through your writing. Jan

Hello Victoria! I too recently discovered your books (by accident) and count it as a very happy day! While I haven’t taken the time to review them yet, I do intend to go back and write some type of review for each one – I was too busy zipping through the books to stop and comment. Now that I have finished the last one, I can go back to the the beginning and start again more slowly, more methodically.

Thank you for the hours/days of enjoyment! Looking forward to many more….

on the Knights of the Black Swan you kind of left off Eleanor Rose is which power you really didn’t expect that is there any chance you’re going to have a book that that shows the extent of her power and what the gods are going to do if when they find out and what exactly is she

      Hi Robyn –

There are still a lot of stories to tell before the series reaches the time to say more about Elora’s unique gifts. Maybe three years from now? Maybe four? Hard to say.

Hi Ellen – I’m so glad you’re enjoying my bikers. When I played in Roadhouse, we frequented biker bars because they are the only people left who are not on couches in front of TVs at night. I got to know them well enough to know that they’re not all animal/barbarians. Some are surprisingly smart, even philosophers of a sort. Thanks very much for taking the time to write. :

Authors like J.R. Ward, Laurann Dohner, Correen Callahan to name a few. I have been trolling the internet looking for great stories when I stumbled upon The Black Swan Series. I’m a glutton for your books,I read until 5:00 and 6:00 a.m. I do not get much done during the day. Please keep Black Swan comming.I

    Hi Victoria

I’m long-time fan who’s only just discovered this comments section so………

Yes, I’m one of the Brits who truly gets you. I read a lot and you’ve been on my (very short) list of top 3 favourite writers ever since I read My Familiar Stranger several years ago.

I post occasional reviews on Amazon under the username UKfan. They’re occasional because if I reviewed everything I read, there’d be no time for reading, but I do read other people’s reviews. And oh, how I hate it when someone who obviously lacks the wit or intelligence to cope with words of more than three syllables, complex sentences, interesting characters and an absorbing plot, puts up a one-star review because they didn’t “get” the book.

I can only imagine how such inane and asinine comments, not to mention the low rating, must feel to a writer. Basically, I just wanted to say that I hope they don’t spoil your day, ever, because you’re too good at your craft to ever need to take notice. So there.

As a reader, I wish that you could write faster. As a fan, I hope you continue to enjoy real life outside the writing sessions because without the first I’m sure the second could never happen. Thanks for the many hours of pleasure you’ve given to this avid reader – and her sister and her brother-in-law!

    • vdanann December 20, 2018 at 6:02 am - Reply

Dear Christa – You leave me speechless.

This is the first time a reader has ever expressed to me an understanding of what 1* reviews do. Just one of those can dramatically affect the overall rating of the book. I always wonder what people think would happen if everyone who happened through their workplace was asked to leave a review on them. LOL

I love U.K. readers because of a natural affinity and also because y’all are just better educated. There. I said it.

As a matter of fact, I am experiencing a phenomenal life at this stage, partly due to messages such as this one. Hope you enjoy Black Dog!

I read a lot, and should really leave more reviews. Your books have moved me to review. Your books can make me laugh, cry, think, and love each character. Great writing to me, is when an author can make you honesty care about the characters in the story. I love series books. I have trouble finding a good quality series I haven’t already read. These books are so entertaining. I can’t praise them enough.

Regarding the Black Swan characters. I’ve often said it never feels like creating. Instead it feels like I visit Loti Dimension and report on what I see there. So glad you’re enjoying the result. 😀
